Former MCR Contributors Kendra Tanacea And Jeannine Hall Gailey To Read At King’s Books In Tacoma Tonight

King’s Books in Tacoma, WA, is hosting a poetry reading for two former Moon City Review contributors, Jeannine Hall Gailey and Kendra Tanacea, tonight at 7:00 p.m. Jeannine’s poetry appeared in both Moon City Review 2015 and Moon City Review 2016, and her most recent collection, Field Guide to the End of the World, won the 2015 Moon City Poetry Award. Kendra’s poetry appeared in Moon City Review 2017, and she recently published a new collection, A Filament Burns in Blue Degrees, through Lost Horse Press.

Moon City Press To Host Student Invitational Reading

Moon City Press will be hosting the Spring 2017 Student Invitational tomorrow night. This will be the latest in a series of readings featuring students from Missouri State University, as selected by the Creative Writing faculty. This semester’s event features fiction writers Beth Fiset, Jupiter Kieschnick, and Shannon Wick; poets Anthony Isaac Bradley and Alex Webster; essayist Asia Key; and graphic narratist Chandler Wilhelmi.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 5, in the Plaster Student Union Theater. The proceedings are sponsored by the Creative Writing Program, the Department of English, and the College of Arts & Letters. As always, our readings are free and open to the public.

Former MCR Contributor Mark Irwin Publishes New Poetry Collection

Mark Irwin, whose poem “What did you do today? How long will it last? Will you remember?” appeared in Moon City Review 2016, had his new poetry collection, A Passion According to Green, released today. Congratulations, Mark!

Official Release Day For Michelle Ross’ There’s So Much They Haven’t Told You

Today is the official release day for Michelle Ross’ debut collection, There’s So Much They Haven’t Told You, winner of the 2016 Moon City Short Fiction Award. Among the stories in Michelle’s collection is “Rattlesnake Roundup,” which first appeared in Moon City Review 2016.

It has been a real honor to publish this wonderful book, and we are thrilled to be able to officially welcome Michelle to the Moon City family.

If you are attending the AWP conference in Washington, D.C., this week, be sure to stop by the Moon City Press book fair table (125-T). While there, pick up a complementary copy of Moon City Review 2017 (while they last), which is hot off the presses.
